I’m Christine

I’m a wife, mom of three kiddos (2 boys, 1 girl) and I homeschool my youngest (who is in high school). I have devoted the last few decades of my life to researching and label-reading to find and share the safest, most effective and affordable (in that order) personal care, beauty and wellness products for reducing toxins in our bodies and home.

I grew up relatively “crunchy” – even though that wasn’t really much of a thing at the time. My sisters and I were all born at home, had no vaccines, and my mom was very intentional (to the best of her knowledge) about providing us with a healthy diet and vitamins.

When I was introduced to herbal health and healing by my ex mother-in-law in 1991 I devoured every bit of information that I could get my hands on. I was fascinated to learn about the benefits of different herbs and nutritional supplements and to realize that God provided so much of what we need to maintain and regain health right in nature! How cool is that?!?!

Later that year I became pregnant with my first child and I knew immediately that I wanted to have a home birth. That was NOT a popular choice back then but it made no sense to me to give birth in a hospital – hospitals are for sick and injured people. So I put my research skills and stubborn determination to use and found a local midwife. It was a wonderful experience that just felt perfectly normal and right to me. I was fortunate and blessed to give birth to my other two children at home as well.

As my research continued, I was shocked to learn about the abundance of toxic and harmful ingredients in the products that we put in (aka, food) and on (aka, personal care, makeup, etc) our bodies on a regular basis. It broke my heart but mostly angered me that these ingredients are legally allowed to be included and most people aren’t even aware of the harmful effects they can have on our health.

That’s when it became my mission to find the safest products possible for myself and my family and to share this knowledge with others who may be in the dark as I was.

Now, a quick disclaimer – I fully acknowledge and understand that we live in a toxic world. Short of living in a bubble (and even that wouldn’t be healthy), there is NO way to eliminate ALL toxins without becoming a stressed out wreck (again, not healthy) of a person. I have chosen to let go of being a fanatical, hyper-vigilant, health nut and to accept that using or consuming something that is not 100% healthy every once in a while is not the end of the world. God created systems in our body to detoxify and there are ways to help those systems function optimally. My everyday focus is on making the vast majority of my choices healthy ones.

If this sounds like a lifestyle you’d be interested in learning more about, then welcome to the tribe! Thank you SO much for being here! I look forward to getting to know you. If you ever have ANY questions or comments, please do not hesitate to send me a message on the Contact page.

XOXO,
Christine Yvonne
